Uruguay 1 Chile 1 – Both sides wasted a number of good chances until Uruguayan defender Alvaro Pereira scored on a tap in the 53rd minute in a match-up between the two Group C favorites. Just 11 minutes later Chile star and rumored Barcelona transfer target Alexis Sanchez found the net for Chile with a well taken outside of the foot shot. The match included a few questionable offside calls though none of them lead to any goals.

Peru 1 Mexico 0 – Jose Paolo Guerrero of Peru became the first player in this edition of the Copa America to register multiple goals. Peru came close to scoring many times before Guerrero finally scored on a tap in that included some terrible defending by Mexico. Peru and Chile, who will meet Tuesday in their Group C finale are tied for 1st place in the group with 4 points, though Chile has the edge in the tiebreaker with 1 more goal scored (both sides have a +1 goal differential).
