Brazil 0 Venezuela 0 – The only thing worse than Brazil’s soccer was their haircuts, and their haircuts were pretty bad. Brazil was held to a draw by South American minnow Venezuela, who are known pretty much exclusively for their talent in baseball, not soccer. Though Brazil fielded a young team, most of their players are at top clubs in the world. This marks the second disappointing result for a favorite in this tournament as Argentina were also held to a draw by Bolivia Friday. For Venezuela this was a great result that opens up the possibility of a quarterfinal berth should they get a win against Ecuador or Paraguay.

Ecuador 0 Paraguay 0 – Neither Ecuador nor Paraguay managed to capitalize on Brazil’s dropped points. The teams played to a scoreless draw that included a few good chances but mostly just excellent goalkeeping. Manchester United star Antonio Valencia of Ecuador went off at halftime with a slight injury. With two scoreless draws, Group B remains wide open.
