4:45 p.m. PDT –  To partner with the 2nd Annual Mock Draft, here is the 2nd Annual Live Diary! I’m probably way more excited than I should be, but I don’t care. This year, I’ve taken my talents to the NFL Network to watch the draft. Mel Kiper Jr. is dumb, and the ESPN set is crowded. Plus, last year they did the idiotic thing of showing guys on the phones before the pick was announced, so it removed ANY drama from the pick announcement.

Last year for my mock draft, I totally copped out and did it in two parts, a week apart, four weeks away from the draft. Not only did it make stuff more outdated, it just sucked in general. I really didn’t do that poorly, but some picks that I had projected weren’t the best (if you care to look at it, here are the two links: Part 1, Part 2. Don’t worry about the odd formatting – some of it was from the blog transfer to the new site). Needless to say I didn’t know what the f-ck I was doing. You could make that argument now.

Anyways, the draft is two days away, and I am as excited as ever! I love the NFL Draft and will probably love it more now that Josh McDaniels is nowhere near the Broncos’ war room. I watched the first three rounds last year and caught the last four when I was around. Now that I figured out a better process, and I am in a far less demanding school at the moment, I cranked this bad boy out mostly today. Here it is, my probably terrible 2011 NFL Mock Draft!

Almost six years after I walked off a baseball field for the last time as his teammate, Scott Heinig died. Growing up in a small community, Scott and I grew up playing baseball together. Both of our fathers were umpires for Davis Little League, and we continued playing together through high school Anyone who has ever played baseball knows the special relationship formed by teammates. There is an unbreakable bond forged on the diamond, and it’s a bond that is never really broken. Every time you see one of your former teammates, it seems like just yesterday you were playing flip in the outfield before practice. I loved every single one of my teammates like a brother and losing one of them shook our community to the foundation.
